Like any typical nine year-old, Abigail loves being outdoors riding her bike or swimming with friends.    But last spring things changed for Abigail and her family. After continued feeling or lethargy, repeated infections and fevers, Abigail was diagnosed with leukemia. Faced with a two year regime of chemotherapy, treatment has left the once active young girl with little strength.   All last summer, she used a walker for support and hasn’t biked since starting treatment.  Her most cherished wish was to have a camper so that it might be possible to go camping this summer with her cousins.

This summer will be different.   Through the generosity of Cape Breton Trailer Sales, and many community partners and volunteers, today Abigail was surprised with her very own pop-up camper aptly named, Abigail's Wish.  Fully outfitted with "pink" extras, Abigail's favorite colour, there were many smiles and excited faces who could hardly wait to get inside.  Says Abigail, she'll be camping this weekend, if only in the back yard!   Cape Breton Trailer Sales owner Maureen Marsh was on hand to officially hand Abigail the keys.
