Atlantic Tiltload Limited is a Nova Scotia owned and operated transport company specializing in the movement of heavy industrial equipment including overweight and over-dimensional. Owner/Operators Ann and Darrin Butcher approached Make-A-Wish Atlantic Provinces late in 2010 to ask about sponsoring a child's wish. Through our Adopt-A-Wish Program, we matched them up with a child from West Pubnico, NS - Manon. And the rest, as they say, is history.
Leading by example, Ann and Darrin wanted to pass along their strong community values to their two teenage sons, as well as help spread the Make-A-Wish message of hope to other local business owners. Since granting Manon's wish to meet princess at theme parks in Florida, they have granted the wishes of other children living with life-threatening medical conditions. On March 29, 2014, they hosted the Atlantic Tiltload Night of 3 Wishes in the hopes of raising enough funds to assist in granting three wishes to Nova Scotian children. Thanks to the generosity of Ann & Darrin, their guests and donors, the Night of 3 Wishes Dinner & Auction raised an incredible $40,000 for Make-A-Wish Atlantic Provinces.
Make-A-Wish Board Member, Owen MacNeil, accepts a cheque from Ann Butcher. Ann was accompanied by one of her Atlantic Tiltload Dinner organizers, Kelly Turpel. Daphne Carter and Lisa Mills from Make-A-Wish Atlantic round out the happy crowd at the Make-A-Wish offices on Spring Garden Road in Halifax.
Make-A-Wish Atlantic Provinces is grateful for the incredible support from Atlantic Tiltload. Stay tuned for next year's event scheduled for April 8, 2017 and it has a Western theme!
