Dylan's Wish

Hitting the Slopes!

Thirteen-year-old Dylan from New Brunswick is an active young man who has the athletic gene. Dylan is involved in competitive swimming, plays on his school’s basketball team, plays baseball in the summer and of course, he loves to ski!

When Dylan was diagnosed with cancer he had to put his competitive nature to a different kind of test, to stay strong. Throughout the course of Dylan’s treatment where needles, doctor’s visits, and hospital stays became the new normal, his eye was set on the end goal, beating cancer! He ensured to be the fighter and star athlete in this race, and last December, it was announced that he is in remission!

This light (his wish) at the end of the tunnel gave him that much more drive and push to get through his treatments. Since he had to take a break from his competitive sports, it was clear what he would wish for. He wished to go on a ski trip. With the generous support of Flight Centre, Make-A-Wish put in the elbow grease to ensure Dylan’s wish was everything he imagined and more

Dylan’s wish experience meant the world to him and his mom, Lynn, said “Dylan was so excited when he found out he was going to Whistler. We drove to Whistler at night time, so we didn’t get to really see the hill until the next morning. Waking up in the morning and seeing the huge and beautiful mountain for the first time was a favorite moment.”
